Chairman Of UConn's Board Of Trustees Tells Students Not To Leave Their Confidence Behind "Like The Civil ConFLiCT Trophy" During Commencement Speech

Yesterday, UConn held a virtual commencement for the class of 2020. Known UConn figures like Geno Auriemma spoke to the class of 2020 to go on and do great things, but the man who stole the show was Dan Toscano. When the head of the board of trustees comes up during a commencement, you hope for a quick speech. Yeah, you're rich and all, but I'm honestly just here to have my name called and get a piece of paper before entering the infamous "real world." Of course,  this commencement was a bit different due to COVID-19, so no hungover kids were packed together in caps and gowns waiting for the rich guy to stop talking. If any of the class of 2020 did watch, they heard a phenomenal joke by Toscano:

You could tell the man was waiting to land that joke. He'll probably use it at every commencement for the next decade.

Funny enough, this past week I was called the "human form" of the Civil ConFLiCT trophy by a radio station in Knoxville, Tennessee. Meant to be an insult, I could not have taken it more as a compliment.

P.s. If you're a graduating senior, I feel awful for you. The last few months at college are a great time and you're graduating into a literal pandemic. However, you kind of lucked out on not having to go to a graduation ceremony. Those things SUCK, especially if you're outside in the sun. So, if you're looking to stay positive, you got to graduate hungover in your bed instead of being packed together like cattle on a field with the sun beating down on you as you listened to a commencement speaker you could not care less about giving you advice on your "life's journey."
